Description

762 Pulcova is a binary asteroid with components of roughly 137km and 15km.

This is an Adaptive optics (AO) image of the binary system taken by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope on 22 February 2000.

This image qualifies for fair use in the articles 762 Pulcova, Minor planet moon, and List of Solar System objects by size since:

1) Illustrates the discovery and significance of binary asteroids.
2) No freely available alternative to this unique image since Adaptive optics are beyond the means of most telescopes, and thus not easily reproducible.
3) Does not make the work as a whole less valuable to the copyright holder since the image was created for scientific purposes.
