Other information

Psi Upsilon was one of the earliest Minnesota fraternities, and was one of the first - if not the first - to build a monumental scale home on University Avenue's Greek Row. In 1941, Psi Upsilon vacated, retaining their chapter during the lean war years and eventually settling a block west along the Row.

The building's current owner, the Student Co-op, originally sold shares to its members. These were disbursed for decades. Today, only current live-in residents are considered voting members for the purposes of ownership and corporate resolutions. The organization mortgaged in the early 2000s for general renovation requirements. The wood structure on the back of the home dates from the Psi Upsilon era.
