Nopcsa Ferenc (Hungarian Kingdom, Déva, 3rd of May, 1877 – Austria, Wien, 23rd of April, 1933). On the land of the shqiptars Photo by Carl Pietzner, scanned by Derzsi Elekes Andor. Size: 9,5 cm x 19 cm. Back side (2). In albanian “shqiptar” means eagle, this is how albanians call themselves. Albanians battled with the Turkish Empire for their freedom. Nopcsa Ferenc, a hungarian nobleman, secret agent, first armed airplan hijacker of the world worked to arm the albanians at the beginning of the 20th century. On the 28th of november, 1912 albanians proclaimed the independance of Albania.
