  1. ↑ After several delayed attempts at completing this race on Sunday, this race was eventually run on Monday February 25th.
  2. ↑ Post-race inspection determined that the oil tank cover on Edwards race-winning #99 car was missing. On March 5th, NASCAR penalized Edwards 100 driver points, stripped him of the 10 bonus points for the win which would seed him in the Chase (should he make the Chase), fined Crew Chief Bob Osbourne $100,000 and docked car owner Jack Roush 100 owner points
  3. ↑ Toyota wins their first NASCAR Sprint Cup points race.
  4. ↑ Became the first driver to be selected by the fans in voting and win the main event race, and the third driver to transfer from the preliminary race and win.

  11. ↑ Juan Pablo Montoya won the pole in qualifying, his first Cup Series pole, but it was taken away because of a technical violation; post-qualifying inspection showed that the shock absorbers on his car had a higher gas pressure than allowed.
  12. ↑ Edward's win at Homestead gave him the Cup Series leading 9 wins for 2008
  13. ↑ Originally scheduled to be run Saturday as part of NASCAR's first scheduled "double-header" with the Craftsman Truck race, the race was postponed due to rain to Sunday, and postponed again to eventually run after the completion of the rain-delayed Sprint Cup race on Monday the 25th.
  14. ↑ Brad Keselowski's first career Nationwide Series win.
  15. ↑ With this win, in only this third NASCAR-sanctioned race, Logano became the youngest driver ever to win a Nationwide Series race, at 18 years and 21 days old (replacing Casey Atwood, who had won at 18 years, 10 months old).

  18. ↑ Busch set a single-season record with 15 wins (across the three NASCAR series), surpassing Kevin Harvick's previous mark of 14.
  19. ↑ This race was the first NASCAR race run on rain/water-capable tires. Previously wet traction tires were run on only two occasions: an exhibition race at the Suzuka International Racing Course, Japan, in 1997, and for a practice at Watkins Glen.
  20. ↑ Busch's 9th Nationwide Series win in 2008 and marks his 20th overall NASCAR Series win, an increasing his single-year record, which he set on July 26th when he passed Kevin Harvick's previous record of 14 overall NASCAR series wins.

  22. ↑ Busch's tenth season NASCAR Nationwide Series win, ties the season wins record set by Sam Ard in 1983

  26. ↑ Darnell beat Johnny Benson by .005 seconds, the closest margin of victory in the NASCAR Truck Series since NASCAR began electronic timing a decade ago.
