Lluís Bel (born 1933) is a Catalan physicist. He graduated in physics at the University of Barcelona. As a graduate student at the University of Paris, he presented several papers on gravitational radiation, culminating in his 1960 PhD thesis. These papers introduced the Bel decomposition and the Bel–Robinson tensor. He later taught at Autonomous University of Barcelona and Autonomous University of Madrid. In 1983 he received the Narcís Monturiol medal.
