Raja Ka Rampur is a town and one of oldest nagar panchayat in Etah district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.[1]
It is situated on Etah-Aliganj-Rudain-Kampil-Kaimganj road route.
History
Known history says that it was small settlement of farmers and some tribes of Panchal Kingdom, close to banks of river Ganga and Kampil. It was part of Kingdom of Rudrayan of Mahabharat period [ now Rudain ]. About seven centuries ago, one Raja Ramsingh from Kannauj migrated here with some important families of various casts and established a small and local kingdom over here.However, during British period, Raja-Ka-Rampur became a town and an important place.
Demographics
As of 2011 Indian census, Raja Ka Rampur had a population of approx. 35,740, inclusive of all castes. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Raja Ka Rampur has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 60%, and female literacy is 44%. In Raja Ka Rampur, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Connectivity
NER Railway Station Rudain, about 2 km having transport facilities. Rail services connects directly to Farrukhabad- Kanpur on one side and Kasganj-Hathras-Mathura-Agra on other side. Bus services to Distt HQr Etah,Aligarh- Delhi route. Also connected to Bareilly by Rail and Road.
Education
Although small town ship, but has been very important in educational field. The oldest[citation needed] college of the district, the B.D.R.S.Inter College, is located in Raja ka Rampur. There are two more Intermediate colleges - RBL Inter College and the other Govt. Girls Inter College. It has one Post-Graduate Degree College known as Dr RKGD College. The schools in the town include Amar Shahid Mahaveer Singh Smarak Balika Vidyalaya and Champa Devi Junior Girls High School and an Adarsh vidhya mandir junior high school.
