Rusudan Chkonia

Rusudan Chkonia was born in 1978 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2001 she graduated from Georgian Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre & Film, with degree in directing. She has written and directed several short films and documentaries, which have been screened at many international film festivals. In 2007, she was invited to The Résidence du festival de Cannes at Cannes' Cinéfondation foundation. Her first feature film Keep Smiling won numerous prizes and was premiered at Venice Film Festival (Venice days).The film was selected as the Georgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards. Together with Tinatin Chkonia, she founded independent film/TV production company called Nike Studio. The company produces feature and documentary from Eastern Europe and provides production services throughout the Caucasus.
