Sarah Hall (born December 9, 1951) is a Canadian stained glass artist,[1] notable for her extensive career, and current experimentation in the integration of photovoltaic technology into art glass. She lives in Toronto, Ontario and was born in Hamilton, Ontario.

Awards

Hall's work has received several International First Place Awards for outstanding Liturgical art from both the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture, and Ministry and Liturgy.

In 2004, Hall was awarded a Chalmers Arts Fellowship (Ontario Arts Council): to research and integrate photovoltaic technology (solar energy collection cells) into her art glass installations. This unique fusion is the first of its kind in North America, and first premiered at the Solar Decathlon in Washington, DC.

Hall's book “The Color of Light” was published by LTP, Archdiocese of Chicago in 1999 and is the first book of its kind for the field of stained glass: a resource guide for those commissioning stained glass for a place of worship.

Her book “Windows on our Soul; A Spiritual Excavation” (with co-author Bob Shantz), was published by Novalis in 2007. The book is based on Sarah’s series of windows inspired by early Christian imagery.

Hall has also published over 35 articles on stained glass.
