Silvio Vitale (28 January 1928 – 25 May 2005) was an Italian politician and lawyer, member of the Italian Social Movement and an MEP.

Biography

Silvio Vitale was born in Naples. A civil lawyer, in May 1950 he was elected the first president of FUAN, the association of university students of the Italian Social Movement (MSI).

In 1955 he joined the New Order Scholarship Center and in December 1956 left the MSI. He founded and directed the journal L'alfiere (1960) with which he publicized in Italy the work of Spanish scholar Francisco Elías de Tejada.

He rejoined the MSI in the late 1960s and was the party's regional councilor in Campania for two terms and MSI group leader.

He entered the European Parliament in June 1988, having been a candidate in the 1984 European elections for the MSI lists. He was a member of the Committee on Regional Policy and Spatial Planning. He remained in the European Parliament until 1989.

After 1995, he devoted himself exclusively to cultural activities.
