Occupation Actor

Singamuthu is an Indian stage and film actor, who has appeared in Tamil language films. He has appeared in films including Suryavamsam (1996), Nee Varuvai Ena (1999) and Raja Rani (2013).

Career

Singamuthu has primarily appeared in comedy roles in films as a supporting actor. He is often seen in a few scenes in his films, portraying an associate of the lead comedian. Singamuthu's son, Vaasan Karthik, made his debut as an actor through Maa Madurai (2007), but failed to make a career in the film industry.

In 2010, Vadivelu held a press conference, accusing fellow comedian and actor Singamuthu for forgery and financial cheating. Vadivelu, who was previously friends with Singamuthu, purchased land from him but later came to learn that the documents were void. This resulted in the former taking legal action on the latter.[1][2][3][4] Later in May 2010, Singamuthu was arrested after assaulting Vadivelu's assistant Shankar, but was later released after three days in jail.[5][6] It was eventually proved that the pair were actually cheated by the salesman, who had sold the land to Singamuthu illegally.[7]
