Soorya Manasam is a 1992 critically acclaimed Malayalam movie by Viji Thampi starring Mammootty in the title role. The plot is inspired by the 1937 American novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Mammootty played the role of the slow-witted Putturumees, one of the most acclaimed characters in his career. Raghuvaran played the villain, the estate manager at Urumees' workplace.

The movie was produced by Geethanjali Nandakumar under the banner of Nandana Films and distributed by Mak Release.

Plot

The story is about a mentally challenged man and his mother and how she manages him.

Reception

The film received positive reviews upon release, especially for the performance of Mammootty, who won many awards that year including the Film Critics Award for best actor.
