State aid

State aid is a Subsidy provided by the government.

In European Union competition law the term has legal meaning, being any measure which demonstrates all the characteristics in Article 107 TFEU[1]

Measures which fall within the definition of State Aid are unlawful unless provided under an exemption or notified.
