State Highway 68 or SH 68 is a proposed highway running from US 281 in Edinburg to US 83 in Donna. The route was originally designated by 1926 to replace SH 10A between Stephenville and Dallas. In 1932, the portion from Stephenville to Dallas was cosigned with U.S. Route 67, and this section of SH 68 was dropped completely by 1938. By 1939, SH 68 extended west to Gorman. In 1942, the remaining route was deleted in favor of the newly formed Farm to Market Road system, being redesignated Farm to Market Road 8. The current route was designated in 2013.[1]
