Workplace violations are violations of labor rights, employment laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act. human rights laws or other happening at the workplace.
Among the most frequent violations in the US are:[1]
- Unpaid compensable time / unpaid work
- Unpaid vacation time
- "Use It or Lose It" vacation time
- Unpaid commission or bonus
- Misclassification as exempt employees
- Misclassification as an independent contractor
- Unpaid or improperly calculated overtime pay
- Comp time instead of overtime pay
- Force false reporting of overtime work
- Minimum wage violations
A generic violation is wage theft or any illegal wage gap.
