Yeva-Genevieve Lavlinski

Yeva-Genevieve Lavlinski (born 1977) is an actress and film director from the USSR currently living in Los Angeles, California. Lavlinski is a law school graduate from the Ukraine and a screenwriter with screenplays registered with the Writers Guild. She paints and her work is on display at Bergamot Station in California. She has acted and directed films in the United States. She has worked alongside actor Jason Statham, actress Amy Smart and actor/singer Dwight Yoakam in the film Crank: High Voltage.[1] She directed and produced Sand Snowman, about the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the beginning of the a new Russia.[2]

Biography

Lavlinski was born into the family of Tamara Frundze-Sologub and Soviet Army officer Garbuzenko Gregory Danilovichin in the southern Odessa region of Ukraine. At age of 10, she moved with her family into a small village where the lack of entertainment promoted her creative imagination and capacity in the study of mathematics, physics, literature and composition, which resulted in winning three years in regional competition on all the subjects. Little Yeva dreamed of becoming a cosmonaut.

The next few years saw Lavlinski excel at the Grekov School of Art, graduating in 1995. The same year she was accepted into Mechnikov National University. In 1997 Lavlinski transferred to the Odessa National Academy of Law. During this time she was a performing member of Natali Knyazevoy Drama theatre, Tour de Force.

After graduation in 2000, Lavlinski left her homeland and went to America to follow her dream of acting and filmmaking. Not speaking any English, she studied hard and in from 2002 to 2004 Lavlinski attended Orange Coast College in California.

In 2005 Lavlinski had a sold out art show in James Gray Gallery, Bergamot Station, in Santa Monica California, and became a citizen of United States.

In 2008 Lavlinski became a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists due to her part in the feature film Crank: High Voltage with Jason Statham. Lavlinski began to take courses at Santa Monica College. After successfully graduating from the web and graphic design program she continued her studies but this time in the film program. In 2013 Lavlinski was awarded first place in a film production class at the life pitch session for new marketing campaigns. She was supporting herself and mother working as an oral surgeon’s registered nurse.

Lavlinski has registered three feature film scripts; When, Farmers Market and Rerenders in addition to her experimental 45 page Sand Snowman to the Writers Guild of America. For the last few years Lavlinski has collaborated with her closest friend Paul Hamilton Molinsky on numerous projects.

Fun facts: Her mother is of half-Romanian origin. In 2008, she appeared in the Plotkin Bail Bond commercial, where she plays a woman arrested for DUI.
