École Munroe Junior High School is a Junior High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba is bounded at Roch Street and Munroe Avenue. It is a dual-track school, offering both a strong English Program and a unique Late French-Immersion Program. The current Principal is Mr. Kevin Mackay, and the Vice-Principal is Ms. Colleen Nick-Johnson.

Athletics

The school's team name is the Stingers. Athletes from Munroe have gone on to win several A and B side championships, and the school continues to offer a strong extra-curricular sports program.


Late French-Immersion

The French Immersion Program at the Grade 7 entry level is designed to give students the opportunity to learn a second language in a stimulating learning environment. During the first six weeks of the program, emphasis is place on themes related to each of the subject areas. This gives the students time to adjust to the new language as well as acquire basic vocabulary and expressions.[1]
