The 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D will be a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition will start in May and will end in August 2020.
Sixty-eight teams will compete in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C (Atlético Acreano, TBD, TBD and TBD).
The teams qualified for the semi-finals will be promoted to the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C.

- b Associação Desportiva Frei Paulistano was renamed to Associação Desportiva Freipaulistano on 24 April 2019.[4]
Competition format
In the first stage, 68 teams will be divided into seventeen groups of four, organized regionally. 32 teams (17 winners and 15 runners-up) will qualify for the second stage. From the second stage on the competition will be played as a knock-out tournament with each round contested over two legs.
