Ahfad University for Women is a private women's university in Omdurman, Sudan.[1] that was founded in 1966.

History

Philosophy

The school's mission is to provide quality education for women to strengthen their roles in national and rural development, and in seeking equity for themselves and other fellow women in all facets of Sudanese society. AUW vision is to create proactive women change agents and leaders from all parts of Sudan who can participate actively in the development of their families and communities. The goal and philosophy of AUW are to prepare women to assume responsible roles in families, communities, and in the nation using a combination of well-articulated academic courses, on-the-job training, individual research, and community extension activities. AUW is widely recognized as being one of the first tertiary institutes in Sudan to actively seek out students from areas in nations periphery.
