Aleksandr Smolyar (born 19 July 2001 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) is a Russian racing driver backed by SMP Racing and currently contesting the SMP F4 Championship.[1]
Career
Karting
Since beginning at a professional level in 2012, Smolyar claimed numerous karting titles in his native Russia and across Europe (such as the CIK-FIA championship), including titles in the KFJ and WSK levels.[2]
Lower formulae
In 2017, after partaking in pre-season testing, Smolyar was signed to race with SMP Racing in the SMP F4 Championship.[3] At the first round in Sochi, Smolyar finished third in only his first race and claimed his maiden pole positions for the second and third races.[4]
