Andreas Raido Karuks Vaikla (born 19 February 1997 in Toronto) is a Canadian-born Estonian professional footballer who plays for IFK Norrköping as a goalkeeper.[1]

Club career

Vaikla started his football career in local clubs in Canada. He received a call-up to the Estonian U16 national team in 2013, in which he was eligible to represent due to his Estonian parents. He was scouted by West Bromwich in a game against Ireland, which led to him later joining the English club's academy the same year. In 2015 he left West Bromwich for Swedish IFK Norrköping, writing a senior contract until the end of the 2016 season.[2] Vaikla was a part of the Norrköping squad that won both Allsvenskan in October and Svenska Supercupen in November 2015, however only appearing as an unused substitute.

He made his senior debut for the club on 20 February 2016, the day after his 19th birthday, keeping a clean sheet in Norrköping's 4–0 win against Östersunds FK in Svenska Cupen.[3] He stood all four cup games during early spring, but was replaced by David Mitov Nilsson once Mitov Nilsson came back from injury in time for Allsvenskan in April. On 22 April 2016, Vaikla made his Allsvenskan debut, coming on as a substitute in the 19th minute against Falkenbergs FF.[4] On 26 April he made his first start in a 3-1 home success against Hammarby IF, due to injury to Mitov Nilsson.

International career

On 14 March 2016, Vaikla received his first call-up to Estonia national football team by manager Magnus Pehrsson, for the exhibition games against Norway and Serbia.[5]
