The Broward Transitional Center (BTC) is a privately owned, for-profit detention center located at 3900 North Powerline Road, Pompano Beach, Florida. It is owned and operated by the GEO Group under contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and as such is a detention center for alleged illegal immigrants classified as "non-criminal and low security detainees." Its total area is 99,000 square feet distributed over two floors, and the building is "designed and constructed to blend in with the community setting." It has been accredited by the American Correctional Association five times, most recently in 2011.[1][2]
