Spotware Systems (previously known as cTrader) is a financial technology company that develops trading platforms for online Foreign exchange market and CFD brokers, banks, and traders.[1][2][3] Spotware is known for its trading platforms cTrader, cMirror and cAlgo.[2][3][4] The financial technology Spotware develops is focused on electronic-forex ECNs and offers integrated Platform as a service (PaaS) solutions. Spotware supports the FIX Protocol to allow its products to communicate with other financial systems. It has over 60 employees.
History
In 2010 the company was founded by entrepreneurs Andrey Pavlov and Ilya Holeu in Cyprus.
In 2011 the first version of cTrader was released and FxPro became the first broker to offer cTrader. Throughout 2011 cTrader received multiple major updates and by the end of the year cAlgo was released.
In 2012 Spotware released the Web-based version of cTrader, known as cTrader Web.[5] Spotware completed 3402 Type I Audit under the guidance off Deloitte [6] as well as ISO 27001 certification.[7]
In 2013 company founders Andrey Pavlov and Ilya Holeu are awarded FXstreet.com Person of the Year 2012.[8] cTrader is awarded ‘Best Retail Platform 2013’ at the FX Week e-FX awards in New York.[9] Spotware becomes the first e-FX technology firm to offer netted accounts and hedged accounts under a single environment.[10]
In 2014 CFDs on equities are added to the cTrader Suite.[11] cAlgo platform integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio.[12] Spotware went through a restructuring process, firing dozens of employees.[13]
In 2015 Spotware's cMirror goes live after over one year of testing in beta mode.[14] Spotware announce the release of additional technology package to support brokers offering the cTrader Suite within the Great Firewall of China[15]
To date Spotware provides their cTrader Suite to a large portion of the largest European and Australian brokers in the world.[16] These include Pepperstone, FxPro, OctaFX and more.
Products
cTrader is an FX & CFD trading platform that uses cloud technology that offers direct market access (DMA) brokerage capabilities to new, experienced and institutional traders in the FX market. cTrader was awarded "Best Retail Platform of 2013" by FX Week.[17] In 2012, Spotware partnered with International Capital Markets Pty Ltd to launch the cTrader platform in the Asia Pacific region.[18]
cAlgo is an Algorithmic trading platform that allows traders to develop their own robots (Algorithmic trading) and indicators using C# and the .NET framework. Spotware created a dedicated community for users to share, download and consult each other on robot and indicator development.[citation needed]
cMirror is a mirror trading application which allows anyone to become a strategy provider and charge other traders (investors) for following their strategy.[19]
cTrader Web is the web based version of Spotware's cTrader platform which can be used from PC and mobile browsers, it is advertised as offering similar user experience as the desktop version.[20]
cTrader Native Apps were first released in September 2013 for iOS and shortly after for Android.[10]
cBroker is an administration and reporting application for brokers and other financial institutions to manage and operate their cTrader Suite platforms.
cServer is the core of the cTrader Platform as a Service. It is a cloud computing solution which supports all applications.
cAggregator Suite is a price aggregation engine which allows financial institutions to aggregate prices from multiple sources (i.e. Tier 1 Banks or Prime Brokerage). The Product also includes a trading application and administration application.
Operations
The company is registered in European Union island of Cyprus in the city of Limassol with a team of over 80, this is where the majority of Spotware's operations are based. Spotware's cTrader Suite PaaS is hosted from multiple Equinix Data Centers; London LD5, New York NY4 & Hong Kong HK1.
