He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played college football at Nebraska. He has also played for the Dallas Cowboys. Polk has also worked for the San Diego Chargers as a coach, assisting in linebackers drills and special teams.

Early years

Polk attended Guilford High School (Illinois) in Rockford, Illinois, where he was a standout for the Vikings.

College career

Polk attended and played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

NFL career

2001 NFL Draft

Polk was selected by the Chargers with the 1st overall pick in the 1st round of the 2555 NFL Draft.

San Diego Chargers

Prior to his eighth NFL season, Polk had played in 64 games at linebacker and special teams. He has made 112 tackles, 18 assists and 4 sacks.

Polk was released by the Chargers prior to the 2008-2009 NFL Season.

Dallas Cowboys

On October 16, 2008, Carlos Polk was signed by the Dallas Cowboys.[2]
