Charles Cornwallis, 3rd Baron Cornwallis PC (December 28, 1655 – April 29, 1698) was a British politician who served as First Lord of the Admiralty. He succeeded his father as Baron Cornwallis in 1673. On December 27th of that year, at Westminster Abbey, he married Elizabeth Fox (d. February 28, 1681 in Tunbridge Wells), daughter of Sir Stephen Fox. Their son Charles succeeded him as 4th Baron Cornwallis. After Elizabeth's death, he married Anne Scott, 1st Duchess of Buccleuch, widow of James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth.

He was the grandfather of Charles, Stephen, Edward, and Frederick Cornwallis; the great-grandfather of Charles, William, and James Cornwallis; the 2nd great-grandfather of Charles Cornwallis; the 3rd great-grandfather of James Mann; the 4th great-grandfather of Fiennes Cornwallis; the 5th great-grandfather of Fiennes Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis; the 6th great-grandfather of Wykeham Cornwallis, 2nd Baron Cornwallis; and the 7th great-grandfather of Fiennes Cornwallis, 3rd Baron Cornwallis.
