Fischer Air was an airline headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic.[1] It operated charter services for tour operator Fischer to over 30 destinations in Europe and Africa, as well as charter flights for other clients. Its main base was Ruzyně International Airport, Prague. In 2005 it was rebranded as Charter Air. Charter Air was not a success since a month later it was bankrupt.[citation needed]

History

The airline was established on 26 July 1996 and started operations on 30 April 1997. It was founded by Václav Fischer, the owner of the Czech tour company, Fischer. It was owned by the K&K Capital Group (75%) and Václav Fischer (25%). In 2005 it was rebranded as Charter Air to avoid confusion with its new Polish charter subsidiary, Fischer Air Polska.
