In his four years at SMU he recorded 174 total tackles, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.[1]
Professional career
Jacksonville Jaguars
Banjo originally had tryouts with the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012, but neither team offered him a contract.
He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent in April 2013, after a tryout during voluntary workouts. He was released by the Jaguars on July 25, 2013.[2]
Green Bay Packers
On July 29, 2013, Banjo was signed by the Green Bay Packers.[3] In his first NFL regular season, Chris recorded 19 tackles and 2 pass deflections, and helped the Packers secure the NFC North title.[4]

Banjo was cut by the Packers on August 30, 2014. He was signed to the practice squad shortly after. Prior to the Packers' Week 15 game of that same season against the Buffalo Bills, Chris Banjo was promoted to the active roster, replacing linebacker Jamari Lattimore who was placed on injured reserve due to a sprained ankle.[6]
On March 8, 2016, he signed a new contract with the Packers.[7]
Personal life
Chris was born to Nigerian parents who migrated to Houston. His mother died in 2010.[8] His name "Oluwaseun" means "We thank God" in Yoruba.[9][10]
