David Jamilly co-founded Theme Traders with Kim Einhorn. Theme Traders is a London based event management, party planning and prop hire company launched in 1989.

David Jamilly is an Honorary Doctor of Business [1] of Southampton Solent University, awarded 22 November 2013.

Humanitarian Activities

Jamilly founded Pod Childrens Charity [2] for children in hospital. Pod Children's Charity started in 1988 and first entertained sick children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.[3] Pod arranges over 2500 performances a year and has entertained over a million children in children's hospital wards and hospices throughout the United Kingdom.

David Jamilly appeared on the Secret Millionaire[4] in 2010 in Redcar in an extended programme, which topped two million seven hundred thousand viewers by the end of it. The programme saw David handling out £25,000 each and becoming patron to Sid's Place,[5] Zoe’s Place[6] and Redcar Amateur Boxing Association.[7] David was one of the co-founders of the Redcar Fire and Steel Festival,[8] alongside Frankie Wales, a festival which celebrated Teesside’s heritage of 150 years of steel making.

David Jamilly founded The Good Deeds Organisation[9] in 2005 which promotes global good deeds and kindness and went on to co-launch and celebrate Kindness Day UK[10] in 2010. Kindness Day UK aims to make each person in the UK carry out one act of kindness on 13 November, World Kindness Day.

Kindness UK

In 2011 David Jamilly founded Kindness UK.[11] Kindness UK is a not-for-profit, independent organisation which aims to promote, share and unite kindness every day and make kindness a greater part of everyone's day-to-day lives.

Kindness UK[12] hosted the 7th General Assembly of the World Kindness Movement 18–20 September 2012. Delegates from Singapore, China, Australia, USA, UK, India, South Korea, Japan, Spain and Italy attended the conference.

In 2013 Kindness UK[13] designed and printed a Kindness Pack for primary schools. This pack was distributed free of charge to around 23,000 primary schools across the UK.

In 2013 Kindness officially recognised over 1,200 schools with a certification of kindness.

In 2014 Kindness UK[14] designed and printed a Kindness Pack for secondary schools.The pack was distributed free of charge to every secondary school in the UK.

In 2015 Kindness UK developed and published a kindness weekly quotes app suitable for all IOS devices from Iphone 5 upwards. [15]

The kindness packs were designed to engage and encourage values and a kind ethos as part of general education and life. The packs are a comprehensive resource for teachers to use alongside the existing curriculum.

In 2015 Kindness UK launched the Kindness UK Doctoral Conference Award in partnership with the University of Sussex [16]

Lectures

David Jamilly has lectured at events, conferences and universities around the world. His recent lectures and talks have included the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) Melbourne 2013, ISES Melbourne 2013, the Special Event Chicago 2013 (U.S.A), the International Confex 2010 & 2011[20] and The Main Event. David has lectured at Southampton Solent University, Leeds Metropolitan University,[21] Teesside University,[22] Buckinghamshire New University, Bournemouth University,[23] Petroc College,[24] as well as in Singapore and Australia.

David Jamilly was appointed a Visiting Fellow of Sheffield Hallam University June 2014.

David sat on the Advisory Board for the International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitailty (ICRETH) 2011 - 2013 based at Leeds Metropolitan University.[25]

Judging and Panel Appearances

David appeared as a judge on various panels in the UK and internationally including the Nissan CARED4 competition in 2011, Family Business Place Red Ribbon Awards in 2012, the Australia Centre for Event Management (ACEM) and 'What's the Big Idea?' at the Australian Event Symposium in Sydney in 2012.

David was a judge for the ISES International Awards in June 2014 and a celebrity judge for the Monmouthshire Business Awards in October 2014 and 2015.
