Devil Mouse is a pejorative term of the 2020s describing The Walt Disney Company. Mostly used by right wing opponents, the term mocks and criticizes the social and political effects of Disney's media and entertainment products. These are claimed to contain widespread progressive and sometimes far left cultural messages.[1]

Origin

The term refers to Mickey Mouse, one of the oldest intellectual properties and the corporate mascot of the Disney company. The term is used rhetorically to exploit widespread recognition of this character. While portrayed as an "everyman hero" by Disney, the Devil Mouse resembles his evil twin or a dark caricature. He is hedonistic, perverted, greedy, vindictive, and may even have sold his soul to the Devil. In particular he enjoys corrupting youngsters in various dysgenic ways.

Meaning

The Disney Company is accused of being a politically converged organization. While Disney started as a mainstream or a somewhat conservative cultural force, it has allegedly moved ahead of popular culture in endorsing ever more socialist, culturally Marxist, and anti-white politics. Disney's cultural output is accused of encouraging children and teenagers to pursue hedonistic lifestyles and discourages them from forming traditional nuclear families.

In popular culture

A parade balloon version of Mickey Mouse is portrayed as a malevolent social force in the South Park episode The Ring.
