Between rounds in combat sports, a cutman can use an eye iron (aka endswell or enswell) to reduce swelling from injuries.
An eye iron (aka endswell or enswell) is a metal n-shaped implement a cutman presses against a fighter's skin to cool and reduce swelling from injuries, especially in areas around the eyes where swelling can impair vision. Eye irons are a standard part of a cutman's equipment in boxing, mixed martial arts and other contact sports where swelling from facial injuries commonly occurs.
