Haslam is a surname originating in England. Haselum, Haslem and Heslam are less common variants of the name. The surname is quite common in North West England, especially in and around Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Etymology

Haslam which means 'dweller under the hazel tree' is a shortening of the name Hazelham, meaning a village near a hazel tree.
