Information Technology University (ITU) (Urdu: انفارمیشن ٹیکنولوجی یونیورسٹی ، لاہور‎) is a higher education institution located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

ITU Lahore has been established at Lahore in 2013 on the initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

ITU Lahore offers bachelor's degree as well as graduate's degree in following programs:

All seats per annual admission are filled on the basis of open merit system. Entry Test conducted by ITU Lahore is a compulsory requirement for admission at the University.

Campus

ITU resides in the Hub of the Technology and Software Development in Pakistan. ITU is currently in Arfa Software Technology Park Lahore. It is planned to construct the building of ITU of 100 acres at a new advanced Vision of Educational Complex by the Government of Punjab, Lahore Knowledge Park.

Admissions

ITU Lahore offers admission every year in Fall. Admission is granted on the basis of Selection Criteria. ITU is currently offering admission in two phases:

Early Decision

Early Decision admission is started in 2016. This is for students who are currently studying in second part of F. Sc or In last year of O Level. This admission option is started to secure admission in the early admission phase before the regular admission cycle starts. Top 20 applicants in this early admission cycle will be offered guaranteed admission with fully funded scholarships.[2] Students who are willing to secure their seats at ITU firt visits Online Registration and get registered. After that, University selects the top 20 students.

Regular Admissions

Regular Admissions are offered every year in Fall. Currently, ITU is granting admissions on the basis of NTS & ECAT test. These both tests are MCQ style test. Candidates who appears in ITU NTS test, comes to ITU Campus for giving test. 150 Students are selected for BS programs every year. 75 for BS Computer Science and 75 for BS Electrical Engineering.

Scholarships

ITU believes in supporting and nurturing academic excellence and so far, no student has been held back from attending ITU for financial reasons. Generous merit and need based scholarships are available.

Need-base scholarships

These scholarships are available from the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) for both graduate and undergraduate programs. Among the collective MS and BS batch admitted at ITU last year, 100 students were PEEF scholars. In the coming academic year, we shall be inducting another 100 PEEF scholars; 76 at the undergraduate level and 24 at the graduate level.

Merit-base scholarships

Scholarship policy for MS to be implemented with effect from Fall 2015 is as under:

At the time of admission, the top 3 students will be awarded merit scholarship, which allows 100% concession in the Tuition Fee. However the student will have to pay the Admission Fee, Security Deposit and other semester charges.

For Masters' students, at the time of admission, top ten (10) students from the merit list will be offered Graduate Student Fellowships.[3]

Upon admission, a student’s academic merit is reviewed and if (and as) applicable, a scholarship of one of the three denomination is awarded for the first semester. Thereafter, this merit scholarship is tied to a student’s academic performance at ITU and shall be reviewed every semester. Students with a CGPA of:

  • 3.3+ will be awarded a 100% scholarship for the following semester
  • 3.0-3.2 will be awarded a 75% scholarship for the following semester
  • 2.8-2.9 will be awarded a 50% scholarship for the following semester

Merit scholarships of students unable to achieve a CGPA of at least 2.8 shall be rescinded.

Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria of ITU is strictly based on merit. For Early Decision, student must have to be in Part II of F. Sc or in Last part of O Levels. Applicants with A’s in at least 6 O Level subjects and straight A’s in Advanced Subsidiary Level. OR Applicants with 85% or above in Matric and FSc Part I or equivalent marks in other education systems.[4]

For Regular Admissions, Applicants who have successfully completed or will successfully complete by August 2013 their FSc/ICS/A’Levels/High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate are eligible to apply to the BS programs at ITU provided they have fulfilled a combination of the following conditions:

1. Scored 60% marks or above in Matric

2. Successfully appeared in six O’Levels subjects

3. Scored 60% or above in the Intermediate exam

4. Scored ?at least 2Bs and 1 C grade in A’Levels and no grade less than a C in any of the following subjects:

Chemistry Computing Mathematics Further Mathematics Physics

5. Scored 80% or above or maintained a GPAof B or above in American High School Diploma

6. Scored at least 30 out of 45 points in International Baccalaureate

Research Centers

ITU's oneo of the main area is Research. Use of Innovative applied research to solve real world problems, for this many research centres are working in ITU. Below are the research centers of ITU
