John Hastings (born July 5, 1964 in Newport News, Virginia), is an American rugby league footballer who formerly played for the Fairfax Eagles in the AMNRL. He is currently a scouting assistant for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).[1] He was previously a strength and conditioning coach for the NFL's Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers.[2] He earned his degree in psychology and physical therapy from Ohio University in 1987. Hastings originally joined the Redskins organization in 2002 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.[3]
