John Middleton (born at Lincoln, 24 December 1956[1]) is an English former football goalkeeper who played for Nottingham Forest and Derby County.
Career
Middleton started his career at Nottingham Forest, playing 90 games for the club between 1974 and 1977.[2] After being replaced in goal by Peter Shilton,[3] Middleton was sold to Derby County as part of an exchange deal for Archie Gemmill.[4] He played 73 league games for Derby before being forced to retire due to injury.[5]
