Jota (born Lee Jonghwa on February 15, 1994) is a South Korean singer in the boygroup Madtown. The group debuted under the label J. Tune Camp in 2014. Jota debuted as a rapper but switched positions to vocals and has skills in acrobatics. He appears on the sports variety TV show Cool Kiz on the Block for Judo and Volleyball. He appeared on Let's Go Dream Team 2 as a fixed member. Jota participated in Judo over eight years before having to quit because of an injury. He is currently in a virtual marriage on We Got Married with model Kim Jin-kyung.

Career
2014: Debut with YOLO and MAD TV
On September 24, 2014, J. Tune Camp announced the debut of their second boy group through a teaser image.[1] This marks J. Tune Camp's boy group debut after 5 years, and group debut after 2 years (before Two X left J. Tune Camp). For the next two days, J. Tune Camp started introducing its members, including Moos and Buffy which are members of Pro C which debuted earlier. They started off with 3 members (namely Moos, Daewon and Lee Geon) on the first day and the remaining 4 members (namely Jota, Heojoon, Buffy and H.O) on the second day.[2][3][4]
The Mad Town members themselves also explained the different style of music that they are specialised in as compared to their senior group and labelmate MBLAQ as well as the members' personalities when they sat down for an interview.[5]
On October 1, J. Tune Camp uploaded their debut Music Video teaser on their official YouTube channel.[6][7] 5 days later, J. Tune Camp uploaded their debut Music Video YOLO on their official YouTube channel.[8][9] On the same day, J. Tune Camp released their debut EP, titled "Mad Town − Super Debut" digitally.[10] On October 9, they had their debut stage on M Countdown. After which, they released their debut album physically.[11]
They were featured on MAD TV, a reality show which featured their everyday lives. It started through J. Tune Camp's official YouTube channel on October 30, 2014 and ended on January 30, 2015 including a special "Delivery Season".[12]
2015: Welcome to Madtown
On March 9, J. Tune Camp uploaded the Music Video teaser for their new song, New World, on their official YouTube channel.[13][14][15] 3 days later, J. Tune Ca
mp uploaded the full Music Video for New World.[16] On the same day, J. Tune Camp released their 2nd mini album titled "Welcome to Madtown" digitally.[17] On March 16, they released their 2nd mini album physically.[18]
2015: Variety Shows
Jota auditioned for Cool Kiz on the Block or Our Neighbourhood Arts and Physical Education. He was chosen from an audition for judo and was announced as the new ace due to his professional judo skills. He won many matches with many experienced judo players.
Jota also was one of the main cast members in the Law of the jungle in Tonga
