Julie Nihill (born 1957 in Melbourne) is an Australian actress.

Biography

After early roles in 1980s soap operas such as The Young Doctors, Prisoner and Sons and Daughters and the miniseries Bodyline (in which she appeared as Jessie Bradman, Donald Bradman's wife).

Nihill was cast in the role for which she became a household face: as bartender and local councilor Chris Riley on the police drama Blue Heelers. Nihill was one of only two actors (the other being John Wood) to star on Blue Heelers from its premiere in 1993 to its finale in 2006.

Later she became a teacher based in Melbourne, Australia. Teaching drama and visual arts to primary students. She taught at Maharishi School where she practiced Transcendental Meditation. A form of meditation taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi also practiced by The Beatles.
