Narrative Capital (Narrative Capital Partners LLC) is a film and television production and finance company with offices in New York and Los Angeles. It was founded in 2014 by current managing partner, Daniel Levin. Notable films inclue Lion (2016 film), Hollow in the Land, and Braven. Narrative Capital's specialty debt and mezzanine platform providing cash-flow solutions for both large-scale entertainment production and syndicated independent projects in addition to producing and co-producing original content utilizing in-house talent.

Lion

In May 2015, The Weinstein Company bought the worldwide distribution rights to the survival drama Lion (2016 film) for $12 million, based on the memoir A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley.[1] Luke Davies adapted the book into an original screenplay and Garth Davis directed. Narrative Capital, Screen Australia, and Fulcrum Media Finance co-financed the film, while See-Saw Films, Narrative Capital, Sunstar Entertainment, and Aquarius Films produced. Iain Canning, Angie Fielder, Daniel Levin, and Emile Sherman were attached as executive producers.[1] In October 2014, Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman were cast in the film.[2] In January 2015, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Priyanka Bose, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Deepti Naval joined the cast.[3] In April 2015, Rooney Mara, David Wenham, and Divian Ladwa also joined the cast.[4]

On March 1 of 2016, Harvey Weinstein released a statement announcing that Lion (2016 film)'s release date would change to November 25, 2016, "which is considered one of the most coveted dates in terms in awards campaigning."[5] The Weinstein Company aims to position Lion (2016 film) as its Oscar frontrunner for the 2016 awards season.
