      Gameplay

Nursery Rhyme is a bishōjo visual novel game, which requires minimal interaction from the player of the game, who assumes the role of Hasekura Shizuma, the protagonist. Most of the time playing the game is spent on reading the text on the bottom of the screen, the text will either maintain diologue between characters, or the protagonist's inner thoughts. At certain points in the game, the player will encounter decision points, where the player can decide which action out of two or more may be carried out. These decision points will determine the route the player will have access to, and the ending. The protagonist can end up with one of the five heroines of the game, Makina Tomoe, Yukina Tomoe, Tita Flawless Brandt, Krile Shikishima and Rin Lim Venus. In order to experience all the various routes and endings, the player will have to replay the game several times and experiment with different choices.

      Plot

      Story

Nursery Rhyme takes place in a fictional Japan where the world is composed of magic that has been recognized by society. The main characters of Nursery Rhyme attend Shosei, a private school consisting of a normal school of physical education, and a magical school. In Nursery Rhyme, "Mahō-shi" is a magic that certain humans have access to, such as Krile. Since a human may possess extremely strong magic, these magic users are instructed to wear control rings that control the possessed magic, and they can also be used as a source of identification, though these rings are designed to attract as little attention as possible. Using the magic to gamble is considered immoral, and magic users are encouraged to not use their Mahō-shi in public, however there are exceptions to this rule, such as saving someone's life with the Mahō-shi. There is a competing sport event called Sofirosu that involves some magicsuch as the magic wands and magic balls. Magic wands are wooden staffs which maintain magical powers. The magic ball is a special ball which is generated by magic. The majority of the participants in this activity are female.

Hasekura Shizuma's parents are working away overseas, so during their absence, he goes to visit his childhood friend Makina Tomoe and her twin sister Yukina Tomoe. Somehow, their family decide to let him stay at their house in the meantime. It turns out that nearby there is an all-girls school, so the sight of male is very rare.
