Paperon Intelligence Agency is an ongoing storyline in the Donald Duck pocket books. In the storyline, Scrooge McDuck is the chief of an intelligence agency, whose intention is the protection of his money. Scrooge employs Donald Duck and Fethry Duck as secret agents to fight various enemies, such as the Beagle Boys and the mad scientist Zantaf. Donald's codename is Qu-Qu 7 (quasi qualificato, Italian for "almost qualified"), and Fethry's codename is Me-Se 12 (mezzo servizio, "half service"). In contrast to the DoubleDuck storyline, Paperon Intelligence Agency is farcical, with Donald and Fethry bumbling up pretty much every mission Scrooge sends them on.

PIA in James Bond's parodies

  • The first story in which appears the PIA is "Paperino missione Bob Fingher" (of April 17, 1966), known in the US as "Moldfinger or The Spy Who Ducked-Out On Me", a parody of Ian Fleming's Goldfinger (in Italian Missione Goldfinger).
  • The story "Paperino dall'acquario con dolore" (which appeared for the first time on February, 1 1976; literally, in English, Donald from aquarium with pain) is a parody of the title of From Russia with Love.
  • On the eighteenth Topolino Story (published by Corriere della Sera, a Milanese daily) was published an article entitled "Agente Qu-Qu 7 licenza di far ridere" (literally Agent Qu-Qu 7 license to laughing the people), by Alberto Becattini . The Italian title of the film Dr. No (Agente 007 - Licenza di uccidere) is very similar to this.
  • The story "Donald agent Qu-Qu7: A jam diamond" (published on 5 March 2002; literally Donald agent Qu-Qu 7: A jam diamonds) has a title similar to Agente 007 - Una cascata di diamanti (Italian title of Diamonds Are Forever).
