Biography

Diamond studied Fine Arts at the NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He worked in the Halifax independent music scene, making album covers, posters and T-shirts for local artists and labels including Jesse Dangerously, Scribbler, Just Friends Records and Diminished Fifth Records.[1] He started making art for independent music in highschool by drawing posters for punk rock concerts.[2] He cites this as his introduction to illustration.[3]

In addition to working within the Halifax music scene, Diamond also worked as a regular contributing illustrator for Halifax's alternative weekly paper The Coast and exhibited regularly, including shows at Argyle Fine Art, Eyelevel Gallery, Upstairs Art Gallery and Utility Gallery.

In 2009 the Dalhousie Gazette published a cover story entitled The Devils I Know about Diamond's solo exhibition of the same name, and his upcoming relocation to Vienna.[4] In The Coast's 2008 Best of Halifax readers poll, Diamond placed second in the Best Comic Artist[5] and Best Album Artwork (with his art for Myles Deck & The Fuzz 7" single Police Cops)[6] categories. In 2007 he served on the judging panel for the 2007 Juno Awards in the 'CD/DVD Artwork Of The Year' category.

In 2009 Diamond moved to Vienna, Austria.[7]
