EXODUS 34

God directs Moses to carve two stone tablets like the ones that Moses shattered. God makes a covenant to work wonders and to drive out the peoples of the Promised Land. God warns Moses against making a covenant with them. God commands the Israelites to redeem every first-born, to observe the Sabbath and the three pilgrim festivals, to not offer sacrifices with anything leavened, to not leave the Passover lamb lying until morning, to bring choice first fruits to the house of the Lord, and to not boil a kid in its mother’s milk. Moses stays with God 40 days, eating no bread, drinking no water. As Moses comes down from the mountain, his face is radiant.
