Uva Province (Sinhalese: Uva Palata) is Sri Lanka's second least populated province, with 1,187,335 people, created in 1896. It consists of two districts: Badulla and Moneragala. The provincial capital is Badulla. Uva is bordered by Eastern, Southern and Central provinces. Its major tourist attractions are Dunhinda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Rawana Falls, the Yala National Park (lying partly in the Southern and Eastern Provinces) and Gal Oya National Park (lying partly in the Eastern Province). The Gal Oya hills and the Central mountains are the main uplands, while the Mahaweli Ganga (Sinhalese: great-sandy) and Menik (Sinhalese: gemstone) rivers and the huge Senanayake Samudraya and Maduru Oya Reservoirs are the major waterways.

Elgin Falls is a waterfall in Sri Lanka, located in the Elgin tea estate which is 18km from the city of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. The waterfall is 25m in height. The falls draw their name from Elgin, Moray, a major town of Morayshire in Scotland. The falls are situated at about 1,900m above sea level. When traveling by railway between Nanu Oya and Ambewela, the falls can be seen picturesquely.

The Botanical Garden of Peradeniya is renowned for the collection the variety of orchids and displays more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees. Attach to it is the National Herbarium.
