Princess Laetitia Maria of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este (Laetitia Maria Nora Anna Joachim Zita, born 23 April 2003) is the third daughter and youngest child of Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid of Belgium. She was born at the Clinique Saint Jean, Brussels, Belgium[1] and is currently Ninth in line to the Belgian throne.

Family

All of her grandparents and great-grandparents are royal or noble; she descends from the Austrian, Belgian, Italian, Swedish, French, Danish, British, Portuguese, Spanish and German royal families. Through her maternal grandmother Queen Paola she also descends from a number of prominent Italian noble families.

She has two older brothers, Amedeo (b. 1986) and Joachim (b. 1991), who is also her godfather, and two older sisters: Maria Laura (b. 1988) and Luisa Maria (b. 1995).

She is currently being educated at Bromsgrove Preparatory School in the UK. She is in her 8th year of primary school (2015-2016).[2]

Public duty

Thus far, her notable public duty has been attending the October 2011 Brussels premiere of "The Adventures of Tintin (film)" with her mother Princess Astrid and sister Princess Luisa Maria.[3]

Princess Laetitia was a flower girl at the 2014 wedding of her brother Prince Amedeo of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este and Elisabetta Rosboch Von Wolkenstein.

All the children of The Archduke of Austria-Este, Prince Lorenz, bear the title "Prince(ss) of Belgium" by Belgian Royal Decree of 2 December 1991, this in addition to their Austrian titles by tradition i.e. "Archduke/Archduchess of Austria-Este, Prince(ss) Imperial of Austria, Prince(ss) Royal of Hungary and Bohemia, Prince(ss) of Modena". Internationally Laetitia Maria is shortly styled as HI&RH Princess Laetitia Maria of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este.
