Shenyang University of Chemical Technology

Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (Chinese: 沈阳化工大学; pinyin: Shěnyáng huàgōng dàxué; SUCT) is a university in Shenyang, Liaoning, China under the provincial government. Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, partially run by the state and mainly by the local government, is an institute of mainly in science, specialization and advantage in the field of chemical industry, integration in the field of science, engineering, economy, management and arts.

In 1952, Shenyang Chemical Industry Technical School was established. In 1958 it was upgraded to a college and renamed Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology. In 1960, renamed to Liaoning University of Science and Technology. In 1962, back to Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology. January 21, 2010, was renamed Shenyang University of Chemical Technology. In near future, its name is going to be change to Shenyang University of Sciences and Technology.

Now it has become the multi-levels teaching system for postgraduates, undergraduates, and the education of Branch Institute (state-owned & society-run), foreign students, adults, and continuous education.

Schools and departments

It teaches chemical and computer engineering to both national and foreign students. The university is affiliated with the Canadian Counsel for Professional Engineers (CCPE). SUCT is composed of 12 colleges or departments which includes the

College of Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Environmental and Biological Engineering, Material Sciences & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer Science & Technology, Economics Administration, Keya College, College of Adult Education, Department of foreign Language, Department of Mathematics & Science, Department of postgraduates, Social Science, and Department of physical Education. SUCT offers 34 undergraduate courses, 12 authorized disciplines for master's degree, and one in the field of Master in Engineering. SUCT qualifies for providing higher degree courses to on-job graduate willing to continue their education for higher degree and has 5 disciplines for doctorate in affiliation with domestic and overseas universities. SUCT has 3 major subjects, 1 major lab at provincial level, as well as 40 different kinds of labs.

Enrollment

Presently, approximately 18,000 students are enrolled at the university. Students come from primarily Liaoning Province, but others come from provinces across China.

More than 200 Students from Bangladesh, Ghana, Mauritius, India, Nepal, Nigeria and Pakistan study here under the university graduation and master programmes of different engineering fields and business.
