Sipra (Urdu: ) is a jUTT tribe in the Punjab region of Pakistan and India. Sipra is a Muslim Jutt tribe[1] found mainly in the western districts of Punjab in Pakistan.[2]
History
The Sipra are a sub-division of the Muslim jutt. It means 'super man'.[3]
Location
The tribe is chiefly found along the banks of Chenab and Jhelum River, in Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Khaarian, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Ahmadpur East, Faisalabad, Tandlianwala Faisalabad, MAHMUNWALI SHEIKHUPURA, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Multan, Muzaffar Garh, Karachi, Sargodha, Rajanpur, Noor Shah (Kot Addu), and Layyah Districts, Kabirwala District Khanewal District Muridke, Waryam Wala Station, Gojra, hafizabad
Sipra Tribe is numerously living in Kamalia, Toba Tek Singh District, Chiniot District, Jhang District and Bahawalpur. The Sipra have no connection with the surname Sapru, which is, in fact, a Kashmiri Pundit surname.
