Somerley

Somerley is a large house and grounds in the civil parish of Ellingham and Harbridge with Ibsley in the New Forest district in Hampshire, England. It is 2 miles (3 km) west of the New Forest National Park.[1] The nearest town is Ringwood, which lies approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) south-east from the house, just east off the River Avon

The house is the home of the sixth earl of Normanton.[2] It was designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1792-95, the house became the property of the Normanton family in 1825.[2] It is not open to the public although it is available for corporate events.[2] The house was a filming location for the 1983 TV adaptation of Mansfield Park.[3] Somerley park is home to a golf club,[4] and international horse trials are held annually at the end of March.[5]
