Vedat Muriqi (born 24 April 1994) is an Albanian football striker who plays for Turkish club Gençlerbirligi and the Kosovo national football team.

Career

Giresunspor

He made his debut with Giresunspor against Antalyaspor, scoring in the 90+3 minute. His second match was against Konyaspor in Turkish Cup where he scored again in the 73rd minute and led his team to a 1-2 victory. Muriqi scored an hat-trick against Boluspor. He later scored two goals against Kayseri Erciyesspor. PSV Eindhoven and Fulham made official offers for Muriqi but were later rejected by Giresunspor.

Gençlerbirligi

Muriqi signed for Gençlerbirligi on 30 May 2016 for €500,000 and a player, after interest shown by Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

Personal life

He also has Turkish passport.

International career

Muriqi currently plays for Albania under-21 national football teams. After taking Turkish passport, Terim called him for Turkey national football team. However, Muriqi was included in Kosovo national football team list on March 2016.
