Young Pakistan is a secular not for profit group that came into existence on 10 May 2009 based in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Background

Ever since the ongoing War in North-West Pakistan that spilled out from neighboring Afghanistan, coupled with Pakistan's ongoing political and social turmoil, a new movement consisting of doctors, lawyers, architects and other educated professionals was established. The group established itself to promote and advocate the feelings of patriotism in the people of its nation in such circumstances that were promoting doom and gloom. In order to gain the attention of the common people and get them unified and rejuvenate amongst them feelings of patriotism the National Flag Movement was started on 13 May 2009. The idea was very simple that all vehicles in the country would bear a sticker of the National Flag thus promoting the symbolism of nationalism.

The goal of this new social action group was to promote national unity in Pakistan, beyond cultural, religious, and political differences on the basis of a common Pakistani ethnicity and nationhood. The response was heart warming and surprising for many as the idea was very simple and clearly had far reaching repercussions. The movement instilled new feelings hope and revival for the people that together they can generate unity and cohesion that can take them through thick and thin.

The Young Pakistan Group was covered by various print and television media channels and the Road Shows that were arranged to actually go out to the public and disseminate the national flags and introductory write ups was taken with open arms. People from all walks of life in the country welcomed the proposition and started to consolidate the concept of unity and patriotism. Membership from all ages of the society and expatriates alike were another strong indicator of the unmet needs of patriotism haunting the citizens of Pakistan.

The social advocacy group is working to date and spreading the cause further to unite the country and create a strong sense of love and loyalty of its people with its motherland.
