Eid Church (Norwegian: Eid kyrkje) is a parish church in Eid Municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nordfjordeid. The church is part of the Eid parish in the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in 1849 by Claus Wiese using plans from Hans Linstow. The church was consecrated on 29 October 1849. It seats about 550 people. This is the fifth church building to sit at Nordfjordeid.

History

Nordfjordeid is one of the oldest church sites in Nordfjord. The first known church here existed from approximately the 12th century until the 14th century. It was a stave church located near the present church building. Not much is known about this church. Another church replaced the old church which may have burned down in a fire. The second church was in use during the 15th century and 16th century. It was located in Mel, just north of the present church.

The third church was used from the 16th century until 1689. It was a timber-framed cruciform church with a tower in the center of the roof. This church was destroyed after a lightning strike in 1689 which burned down the building. The fourth church was completed in 1692 on the same site as the previous church. It too was a wooden cruciform church and it was used until 1849 when it was deemed too small, so the present church was constructed.
