Utvik Church (Norwegian: Utvik kyrkje) is a parish church in Stryn Municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Utvik. The church is part of the Utvik parish in the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white wooden church was built in 1840 by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 350 people.[1][2]
History
There has been a church at Utvik since the 13th century. The stave church apparently existed until the early 17th century. In 1617, a new cruciform church was built to replace the previous church. The present church was built in 1840 to replace the previous church. The present church was consecrated on 29 November 1840.[3]
