Lasiocampoidea is the superfamily of "lappet moths", containing two families of small to very large moths. The Lasiocampidae have a global distribution, while the Anthelidae ("Australian lappet moths") are found only in Australia and New Zealand. About 158 genera are known.[1]

The group is closely related to the Bombycoidea and sometimes merged therein.
